What is a bridge?

A bridge is used to replace a missing tooth by anchoring a custom-fit restoration to the natural teeth next to it. Not only is a bridge an aesthetic treatment, but a functional treatment as well, aiding the patient with chewing and speaking while preventing existing teeth from becoming misaligned. A bridge is generally made of porcelain fused to metal structure to provide both strength and aesthetics.

How is the procedure done?

A bridge is a two-step procedure. First, the teeth are prepared through removal of decayed structure and the shaping of the surrounding teeth. An impression is taken for a custom-fit bridge. We’ll supply the patient with a provisional restoration so they can continue their normal routine while the customized bridge is fabricated. Once the bridge is ready, it is placed permanently in a second appointment, providing a comfortable and attractive restoration that looks and feels just like natural teeth.
